I am starting to play the drums. for the first time, and starting to play on my new drum set.
With little to no experience I was playing around with the drum kit. I had no practice with the drums and I did not really know what I was doing, but I was getting a feel for playing with the drumming kit.

I met up with my project facilitator to play the drums. On the first day he introduced me how to play beats and how to handle the sticks.
One of the many times that my project facilitator and I met up to play the drums. I take 30 minute lessons with him every Saturday so I get a lot of practice with him. With every lesson I learn everything new, and every time I do it is very challenging.

I am practicing at home and trying to improve my sticking form. When I was playing I handled the sticks in a weird position so I was correcting myself. I practiced various things and wanting to get better at drumming.
My project facilitator and I went over many things and it is hard to keep up with. So a day after my drumming lesson I practiced everything that we went over. I wanted to play and bring up old stuff that I learned so I took long time dedicated to practicing.

I got home and I was practicing the drums. I was trying to make a beat and play it over and over to build muscle memory.
I was practicing the drums. After a few lessons I have gotten better at playing the drums. I was practicing things that I could not do before, such as hitting certain notes and beats.

I am on the drum set going over beats and playing at different speeds to get used to playing at different paces.
After school I went home to practice the drums for a while. I was playing everything that I remembered and really worked on speed control and using the right hands for certain types of beats.

I am looking back to my notes to play old and new beating patterns. I am getting familiar with different types of beats.
I have been playing the drums for a while so I went back to my drum lessons to get a reminder of everything that I have learned. I played beats that I learned when I first started up until the recent one I learned.

My project facilitator and I both picked out a song that we believe that I can play along with. We both decided to play "Watching the wheels" by John Lennon.
The day after my drumming lessons I went on my drum set and starting practicing to the beat while playing the song through speakers. I played along with it for two solid hours because I really wanted to perfect it and have no mistakes.

Right after school I was anxious to practice my song that I learned over the weekend. I played the song I am going to play to really loud and tried to stay on track to the beat.
I was practicing playing "Watching the wheels" really loud with speakers. Playing the song to match the drum set really helped me to focus and stay on beat with the song. Playing with the song is pretty tricky because it is a slow beat and I sometimes have troubles staying on track.

I stopped practing to the song for a quick break. I decided that I should mix things up and play a different beat and train my body to switch to a new beat and take my mind off things.
After school I found out that I didn't work that day so I decided to go back to my drum set to practice a little. This time I didn't practice the song because it got tedious, instead I practiced drumming different beats and building up muscle memory.

I went back to practicing "watching the wheels". I was impressed by how much easier it has gotten for me. I was able to stay on track and play the beat well.
I really wanted to get the song perfect so I practiced playing with the song again over the weekend. I want it to be as close to perfect as possible, and the only way to do that is to practice a lot. Every chance that I get I go to my drum set and practice playing along with "Watching the wheels" in hopes of getting better.
