Mindfulness in Schools
Our Mindfulness in schools workshop is designed to provide staff with tools to improve well-being and happiness. Paying more attention to your own thoughts and feelings and the world around you- resulting in improved mental health and a calmer and more positive environment.
It's easy to stop noticing the world around us. It's also easy to loose touch with the way our bodies are feeling and to end up living in our heads
During a typical school day we can get caught up in our thoughts without stopping to notice how those thoughts are driving our emotions and behaviour. We spend much of our day on autopilot and focusing our energy on the pupils/students we teach- we neglect ourselves in the process- leaving us feeling stressed, lethargic and drained. Introducing simple yet scientifically proven mindful techniques can enable us to respond rather than react to the stressful and challenging situations we face throughout the day.
During our interactive workshop participants will have the opportunity to practice short mindfulness techniques and reflect on their experiences. We will explore the benefits of the practices and how best to fit them into a typical school day. Furthermore we will discover short and manageable techniques to incorporate into the curriculum, support calmer classrooms, improve behaviour, positive relationships and smoother transitions.
