Dr. E.C. McKinley
Tennessee State Overseer
Church of God of Prophecy
Bishop E.C. McKinley is the State Overseer of the Church of God of Prophecy in the State of Tennessee (U.S.A.) He oversees churches and ministers and develops leadership-training materials for the local churches. Born in 1955, McKinley and his two sisters and one brother lived in Evansville, Indiana. Their father, the late Rev. James T. McKinley was an ordained minister and their mother, the late Geneva McKinley, was also a minister.
McKinley attended public schools in his hometown of Evansville, Indiana until becoming an active member of the United States Army in 1974. There he served as a Military Policeman, and then as a Military Police Investigator for a total of six years. It was during his military experience that he was converted to Christianity on December 6, 1978. Shortly after his conversion, McKinley accepted his call into the preaching ministry.
McKinley attended and graduated from Indiana Business College with an undergraduate degree in Accounting while serving as pastor of his first church. Shortly after graduation, he enrolled in Seminary where he received his and Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Theology and Education.
McKinley has served three churches as senior pastor, involved in radio, television and print ministry in each of these cities. He is a regular contributor to the White Wing Messenger, and has also contributed to the magazine, Laity. He is the author of the book, Pulling Them From The Fire.
McKinley was appointed as the Regional Overseer of the Northwest Territories (U.S.A.) where he served for four years. In 2002, McKinley was appointed to serve the Mid-America Region (U.S.A.) for two years. In 2004, McKinley as appointed to serve as the State Overseer of Tennessee (U.S.A.) where he continues to serve at present. He serves as a member of the Administrative Committee, the Corporate Board of Directors for the Church of God of Prophecy, International, the International Offices Ministerial Review Board and the Sunday School Literature Doctrinal Review Committee.
