To Whom It May Concern,
RE: Letter of Support, Bailey Smith.
I met Bailey through a friend when I was looking to get some mechanic work done on my vehicle. Since then we instantly became good friends, going out for coffee since neither of us drink as I also am a grateful member of narcotics and anonymous. Bailey showed great interest in learning how to live a clean lifestyle without drugs. Bailey recognizes that he has been struggling with drugs for the last 5-7 years.
I have been a strong support in suggesting that he attend some N.A. meetings, meet some new people in recovery and get a sponsor. Bailey had started to attend meetings and he seems to want what N.A. has to offer him, which is a new way to live without ever having to use again.
Bailey also recognizes that he needed to find a place to live where he is surrounded by good people in order to be successful. He stresses the fact that he left his ex-girl friend (Veronica) because situations where getting ugly and he no longer wanted his two sons to have to be in the middle of it. From what I have been able to see Bailey is a great Father to his boys and has developed a wonderful relationship with each one, encouraging them to thrive and graduate high school. Bailey also looks after his elderly mother whom needs to be resituated due to inappropriate care giving and lack of, as well as there has been some concern as to some misappropriated funds while living in the home that she resides in. He is not the only family member that is close enough to take care of her, nor does he take advantage.
I have opened my home to Bailey and his elderly mother to rent for when he is released from custody. As well as hiring him to do some work on the property in which is located 30 minutes out of Edmonton. Under the agreement that he continue in N.A. because I have a ZERO tolerance for any drugs or alcohol within my home. I strongly encourage him to follow any conditions he may get, because he is aware that I wont hesitate to phone and report him if he gets on the wrong path again. I will assist in transportation to meetings continue to be a good support to Bailey as I have faith in him that he is truly tired of the revolving door into jail, as he has started taking the right steps towards recovery.
