Activity- Today was my first official day of my CNA training course. I was excited but anxious of what was lying ahead of me. That day we were introduced to the course, were taught, and learned how to take vitals and how to correctly perform CPR and how to act in those situations.
Activity- Today in our second weekend of class we learned how to take blood pressure and we learned a few skills while taking care a patient. We have also come to the point of the class in which the next weekend of class we will be actually having clinical's and be working in hospitals and having hands on experience with patients !!
Activity- Today was our first clinical day for our CNA program. We went to Canton Nursing Home in Canton, Ga and we were there all day helping and putting our training in use while also getting use to the experience and environment of the work place. Some things we did or helped out with was like for example; taking vital signs, making beds, giving baths, and feeding to name a few.
Commentary- after the first day of class I felt very tired of course but really excited to go back and learn more about the medical field and there procedures. The first day we have already learned CPR and how to correctly measure a person's blood pressure and pulse readings.
Commentary- Well after my second week of class I am feeling good so far and enjoying myself in this course. However, the challenge will be next weekend when we actually be working in actual nursing homes! I am not going to lie but I am nervous about this, but there is a little part of me that is also excited about taking my experience and what I learned into use and helping others, so wish me luck!
Commentary- When I first arrived I was nervous because I did not know what to expect, also wanted to look good In front of the other CNAs. However, as the day went on I became more and more comfortable with the environment and eventually at the end of the day, I learned a lot and made a few friends while I was there. This was my first out of three clinical dates, so if last two go as well as the first then I cannot wait to go back and see my friends again!
This is a picture of me and my project facilitator Molly Lewis; she is a LPN and has been teaching CNA courses for 5 years now. Molly is a great facilitator she is a LPN in nursing and I cannot wait to have her as my facilitator and teacher!

Me taking the blood pressure of one of my class mates, which we learned on the first day. I am really enjoying this class so far, I am learning a lot and these skills will help me in the future. Now I am waiting to know what we are learning next.
I was taking the weight of my classmates using a scale. This was a skill I had to learn. This is one of the main steps we were taught in our course. Now I am hoping I can use this skill to my advantage.
I was performing CPR on a dummy. In addition, on the first weekend of class, we were taught and became CPR certified. Meaning if someone needs CPR I am the man to help!
Me on my first morning of clinical in which I had to wear green scrubs to and throughout the Nursing Home. On my first day, I was very nervous but excited to see what it is like to actually work in a hospital and get that type of experience and training. I need to wish myself luck as I will be attending to my patients.
