My name is Diana Reynoso, an 18-year-old high school student who is currently seeking out options for after high school. I have always been interested into getting a job in the cosmetology field. Cosmetology has always been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. For my senior project, I will get a group of girls and do their makeup. Not only will it be just any girls but it is going to be girls who wouldn’t be able to afford to pay someone else to do their makeup for such a special occasion.
When I began to work on my senior project in the fall I saw it would be beneficial to research all the advancements and just some basics when it comes to cosmetology. Cosmetology is getting more and more advanced as the years go by. The article also goes in to detail on the different skin types and the types of makeup that should be used for each. There is certain makeup that goes on different types of skins according to how dry or greasy it is. There are also many different colors of foundation as well as correctors and concealers that go in to hide all of the imperfections.
Researching the basics and advancements it gave me the knowledge to see where the cosmetology field was going. Along with researching for my paper, I also furthered my search by watching many videos before all my lessons. At the beginning, I struggled with trying to put it all together. I then went to lessons to prepare myself for the big day where all the hard work would finally pay off. It was important to have everything planned out before the special date since it all would happen so fast.
My topic and research paper related to my interest in becoming a cosmetologist. It also gave me a better understanding on the different skin types and how to deal with them. When working in the cosmetology field not everyone’s face is the same so it’s good to know how to deal with everyone’s face and how to get it prepared to start the process. As well as the basics, I also saw how much cosmetology has been advancing; meaning that no matter how much you learn in school you never stop learning.
Overall I have stressed so much over my senior project. I did learn from it but did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would up to this point. I also got to experience the ups and downs of the job. Not only did I have to learn how to work with other people’s faces but I also learned how to plan an event. I had to see how it would all come out and make letters and forms for a fundraiser to be able to make it happen.
