My name is Devin Brown. I this is my first and hopefully only year at Etowah High School. My goals for this project were to overcome mediocrity, time management, and leadership. The project I have constructed is a video showing the societal reactions of freshman transitions. I hope every viewer can gain knowledge and appreciation for the hard work put into this project. I would love to have a career based on filmography; I stalwartly believe it is a powerful industry when used correctly.
My research paper topic was the influence of filmography on society, and within that paper, I discussed different aspects that film has influence over societal stigmas. I learned a copious amount of information while researching and writing: how critical it is to have a virtuous crew, credentials, and understanding of aesthetic, symbolic/allegorical expressions on screen, the science behind the cinematography. Researching made me appreciate the art even more. Furthermore, I hope this presentation will give you a new understanding of this topic.
My product is a constructed short documentary of freshman transitions, not only in secondary education but also in dealing with anything new in life, and how that typically creates synonymous feelings of anxiety, stress, and other physiological/psychological reactions on a neurological level. The Product, relates to my research paper by [hopefully] giving the same influence other documentaries or films give. Reaching successes for this project was, rigorous, stressful, but nonetheless enjoyable. It is something I genuinely love to do. Some obstacles I had to overcome include time management, stress management, also having to work meticulously to achieve the aesthetic I was looking for.
The Majors I want to pursue include Film Production and Psychology. A career in either one of those is the goal. After postsecondary education, I will not settle for mediocrity. Filming is a passion of mine that will stick with me as time goes on. I learned how I can create something meaningful if I put my mind to it, the entire process for this project was rigorous yet thrilling.
Overall, I liked this Senior Project. The only thing I think that could be done better is balancing British Literature between it. At times, it can get to become a juggling act between the two. Also, and I think I can speak for a copious amount of other seniors when I say this, the project was inexplicably time consuming outside of school which is more difficult for someone such as me due to working a 40+ hour a week job, social responsibilities, other academhic responsibilities and a plethora of other factors. Other than that, this was a passionate project for me that I hope you enjoy.
