“The World We Belong To?”
Social Stratification is a system in which groups of people are divided into layers according to their relative property, power, and prestige. It is a way of ranking individuals to society and special privileges. It is also important to note that every society stratifies its members, this demand is universal.
“Slavery, Really, Why?”
The Causes of Slavery:
Debt- Creditors would enslave people who could didn’t pay their debts. In some places, slavery was temporary or lifelong!
Crime- Instead of committing crimes, an individual would be enslaved by the victim’s family as compensation for their loss.
War- When one group of people defeated another, they would often take others.
Conditions Of Slavery:
Slavery was not inheritable; in most places, children were also slaves themselves.
Slaves were not necessarily powerless and poor, in most cases slaves owned no property and had no power. However, slaves could accumulate property and rise to noticeable rankings in the community.
Because slavery has a broad range of causes, some believe that racism didn’t lead to slavery, but rather that slavery lead to racism. Finding that it profitable to make people for slaves for life, U.S. Slave owners developed an ideology, beliefs that justify social arrangements. Ideology leads to a perception of the world that makes current social arrangements seem fair and necessary.
The enslavement of children for work and sex is a problem for most nations.
The second system of social stratification is caste , it’s the status determined by birth and is lifelong. Societies with this form of stratification try to make certain that the boundaries between castes remain firm, they practice endogamy, marriage within their own group and prohibit intermarriage.
A class system, is much more open, for it is based primarily on money or material possession.
A class system allows social mobility, which is the movement up or down the class ladder. Though global interconnections among wealthy individuals have produced a global super class, in which most are white and majority are men
Stratification In Regards of Women
In every society, females are always second to male rule., due to male dominance..
“What Determines A Social Class?”
Karl Marx argued that a single factor determines social class. Meaning if you own the means of production , you belong to the capitalists group. (people who owned the means of production). If you don't own production, you’d be a worker who were classified less than average.
Though Max Weber argued that that three elements determine social class:
“How To Maintain Stratification?”
To maintain Social Stratification within society, the ruling class adopts an ideology that justifies its current arrangements. It also controls information and uses technology,
Three World Nations
Least Industrialized Nations
The Most Industrialized nations have much greater property(wealth), power(they usually get their way in international relations.
Ex: (United States, Canada in North America, Great Britain, France, Germany) though these nations only have 16 % of the world’s people they also have more land and their wealth is abundant, meaning the poor live better and longer lives than do the average age citizens of the Least Industrialized Nations.

“How To Maintain Global Stratification”
First , we can establish neocolonialism, this refers to keeping the poorer nations in debt and selling weapons to their elite.
Example: (WWII, selling goods on credit, especially weapons that their enemy desired so power can be controlled)
Second, Multinational corporation are companies that operate across the national boundaries. They help maintain the global dominance of Most Industrialized Nations.
“Strains in the Global System”
In summary, as secure as we may be within our nation stratification can still happen. Rather we lose resources or have common debt to others we have to be aware that this cause is still apparent in other countries. Although, North America is fortunate we are an economy with much riches and less respect for them. We all have to maintain our reason for living and value our resources and self. Wealth is important and we may never know the point of the global strain system and the power elites desperate attempts to patch up the inconsistencies in their global domination, contradiction may be covered for a while but Determination is Capitalism!efeated another, they would often take others.
