Typing, Editing, Proofing, Reviewing, and Formatting
You shuld have already read through the first five sections of the EXAMPLES and DEMOS tutorial before starting this exercise. These sections are titled:
Opening, Creating and Saving Documents
Typing and Navigating
Cheking, Spelling and Grammar
Now that you hopefully read through the above information, you should format this document to dupplicate the finisheded copy handout.
The best way to start a document is to type the document in its entirety before attempting any formating such as margins, indents, font size, centering, bulets, numbering, etc. This way your time typing is not slowed down by formatting problems.
After the entire document is typed in (as this document appears to be), then you can go back to the beginning and start formating by highlighting the the parts that you want to look differently. This is the time that you can change the margins, indents, fonts, etc.
Therefore, in order to change the way the title looks, you simply highlight the entire title, and change the font size, make it bold, center the title and add an underline.
To “indent” and “bullet” the titles of the tutorial sections, you would highlight the five titles, move the marker on the horizontal ruler to the 1" mark, and press the bulet button.
Now that you have successfully read this document, go back and change the formatting to duplicate the handout. And, don't forget to spell check it before printing the document for a grade.
