Personal Nutrition is to attain the correct amount of food necessary for growth and a healthy body. Personal nutrition is extremely important for your health, because if you have poor nutrition, it can cause many health issues including, heart disease, strokes, diabetes, gallstones and some cancers. Nutrition is essential in order to live a healthy life and increase your life expectancy. Nutrition is key to have strong muscular strength, without this, you would not be able to lift or hold your own body weight ending in, being bed-ridden or possibly hospitalised. This report was created to show the effects of poor nutritional choices and how they can affect your health and life.
The Australian Guide to Healthy eating shows what portions of food groups and the amounts of these foods should be eaten to be healthy. The healthier choices on this graph, mostly include vegetables and grains, as the most needed food groups. Most adolescents, in this generation make poor nutritional decisions when it comes to healthy food choices, resulting in many health problems in this generation and a high rate of obesity.
In my diet, I have more than enough energy, protein, iron and zinc. However, I did not have enough Folate and calcium. In my diet, the good thing is, that I don’t need to eat any more foods with energy, protein, iron and zinc in it to have a healthy amount, or even too much. But in my diet I do need more foods with calcium, as I did not have enough in my diet. One factor that has impacted on my diet is that I only eat the food my parents buy and make, so I don’t get much of a choice in the foods I eat. This isn’t really a barrier to good nutrition because I am still able to eat somewhat healthy foods. If you have a high-fat diet you are most-likely to become obese and have heart conditions and many other health issues.
This report was created to state the common nutritional issues of the adolescents of this generation and how these issues can affect your overall health.
