Now, we are contact with the numerous technology in the society. Believe that each family has one or more of the technology. Such as television, smart phones, computers etc. Today's children and parents are very different. Social environment due to technological progress. Has long been changed the original mode of life. Smart phones from luxury into a necessity. Toys become i-pad. And the video games take the place of the park. As a result of rapid social change, schools need to instill more knowledge about ICT. At present, that a gradually add technology elements of early childhood education. Parents need to help children in the Internet search data to complete their homework. The education sector has different voices on the use of technology by young children. Using ICT in Early Childhood Education must be benefits and potential risks. How we balance the line in the teaching, it is worth to explore.
Now, I will like to tell you about the using of ICT in early childhood teaching. Kindergarten teaching model based on the child's interest and specific themes. Also ICT is into the activities, and not additional instillation information. Below I will design an activity for the K2, contains of 20 students. They will be divided into four groups to carry out activities. First, let children for a two-week theme of the campaign activities. So that children from the gather information and finishing the process of understanding the types of sports, forms, characteristics etc. Second, teachers allow young children to share their understanding of the sports through discussion. The most profound impression of painting as a picture and the use of sentences to describe the scene or express feelings. Third, teachers collect the works of students, with students scan the digital production version of the archive. Then children will create their own digital recording of the sentence, made of digital books. Production is completed, teachers play digital books and children to share the results. The digital book print stored in the book corner for children to read and read. This activities in the language of learning area. That language learning include listening, speaking, reading and writing. In the writing, children use pictures and words to express it. In the speaking, children will create their own digital recording of the sentence. In the reading and listening, get your visual and auditory enjoyment by playing digital books. This activity target group is K2. According to Developmental Characteristics of Children from 2 to 6 Years Old "Age 4 to 5 years, children able to tell stories from pictures; able to speak fairly fluently and clearly. " (Hong Kong Education Bureau, 2006). I believe this is effective in their activities, and their ability to permit reached.
According to The Curriculum Development Council "Children are active learners who are curious and interested in exploration. Given proper resources and adults’ assistance, children can construct knowledge on their own. A safe, comfortable, enjoyable and challenging environment is conducive to children’s learning." (Hong Kong Education Bureau, 2006). So that appear of ICT to bring them freshness. ICT can deliver content and activities that originate and support strong and productive emotions for children. Eventually they can serve as the environment and the tools for development of a child. In addition, using ICT for supporting children's learning. First, ICT to enhance children's speaking skills. According to NAEYC" Technology should be used as a tool to enhance language and literacy ... With technology, adults and children can hear and practice accurate pronunciations so they can learn one another’s languages. If teachers do not speak a child’s language, they may use technology to record the child’s speech for later translation and documentation of the child’s progress. "( NAEYC ,2012). In activities, children to record their own stories. They will listen to their recordings, and have the right to modify. The teacher will teach children to pronounce and speak, make their skills to be better. That some children are more shy, and are afraid to give speeches under the masses. The use of tape recorders can increase their chances of speaking. Second, ICT to enhance children 's reading opportunities. Teachers will be in accordance with the description of children pictures inserted text notes. Promote the use of written language in children the opportunity to express. Third, ICT to increase children's learning interest. The process of making digital books, children need to draw a picture of the sport. Then convert the picture from scanner to computer file and sound recording. This activity allows them to make their own, a story of sound and picture. Comparing the use of traditional painting , it would more appealing. Use technology to make activities interesting. May make children have a higher initiative and participation.
The role and potential of using ICT in the early childhood education. It affects the education of young children. In terms of benefits, ICT benefits education systems to provide quality education in alignment with constructivism, which is a contemporary paradigm of learning. ICT can promote active learning because it plays the role of empowerment, provides rich teaching functions and creates authentic learning opportunities. For teacher, ICT can create a teacher's ability to explore new teaching strategies because IT equipment is flexible and can be used in a variety of ways for teachers to explore. A the same time, ICT may to bring potential risks and concerns. If harmful physical effects of prolonged computer use by children. Excessive exposure of ICT, children to other learning lost interest. For example, Digital books let children have visual and auditory characteristics. They are slowly losing interest in traditional books. ICT effects on children's social development. In this activities, children and peers do not have much chance of communication. Their speech object is a tape recorder. So that children no interaction and communication in this environment. There are advantages and disadvantages in ICT, We need to find a balance in teaching. We should integration of new technologies into many other ordinary everyday activities in early childhood education, rather than replacing them. That can make effective use of information and communication technology in early childhood care and education.
