I spent some time this morning with my Dad. He has Parkinson ’s disease and, although still mobile with the assistance of a walker, he struggles with small tasks like opening a jelly packet. It breaks my heart to watch helplessly as “my daddy,” a strong, handsome, proud factory worker and captain of one of the finest fishing ships in the Delaware Bay, ages. Yet, I realize that among all the seniors world-wide, he is blessed. He has the love of six children and our families along with one sister who is knocking on the “nineties” door, countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He has a lifetime of memories with only a few rocky sections along the path and doesn’t go hungry like so many others. Yes, without his “other half” he is incomplete but he carries the hope of Heaven in his heart; he looks forward to their reunion. My Dad has never been a Bible carrying, Amen shouting, attendee of weekly church Christian but I know he carries the hope of Heaven because
