Shows how well you communicate.
What Should I Include in my Cover Letter?
Try not to go over one page – get to the point immediately.
Arrange the points in a logical sequence; organize each paragraph around a main point.
Focus on how your skills would best serve the company.
Show some personality, but remain professional with a clear message. Avoid jargon and show confidence, enthusiasm, and optimism in a respectful way.
Tailor your letter to each job opportunity.
How Should I Organize my Cover Letter?
State why you are writing.
Establish a point of contact – How you know about the job.
Brief overview of who you are (a Senior at Burke High School in Omaha, NE).

Mention points that are likely to be important for the position you are seeking.
Show how your education and experience suit the requirements of the position
Elaborate on a few points from your resume explaining what you could contribute to the organization.

Indicate what supplementary material is being sent/attached.
Thank the reader for his/her consideration and indicate that you are looking forward to hearing from him/her.
